Tracks

City Forests has a number of walking and mountain bike tracks in its forests. These are open to the public outside of normal forestry operating hours, i.e. during weekends, public holidays and weekdays from 6.00pm until dusk during the daylight saving period of the year.

Be aware that tracks can be greasy after rain. The tracks are closed during times of high fire risk and high winds. Access is not allowed to operational areas.

No permit required.

Dogs in our forests

Dogs are welcome in our forests.

Owners must be aware that periodic ere pest control operations using toxins may be a hazard to dogs. Always observe contractor / poison warning signs at forest entrances and keep dogs away from toxins, residual carcasses and under control to protect wildlife and other forest users.

Flagstaff Creek - Areas closed due to storm damage

Please note that due to extensive storm damage the track on the true right of the creek and the bridge at the end of the track are permanently closed. Track users are not able to walk a circuit but must retrace their route from the end of the track.

Please do not take horses into Ross Creek Forest, and keep horses and motorbikes off all walking and Mountain Bike tracks.
